Eric Wren - JV Assistant Coach

JV Assistant Coach

Whether playing, coaching or watching lacrosse, Coach Eric has been involved in the sport for over 35 years. Eric was born and raised in Newport Beach, CA.  His older brother first introduced him to lacrosse when he was just ten years old.  Due to the lack of lacrosse programs in California (1975), Eric didn’t compete until he attended Phelps preparatory school in Malvern, Pennsylvania. He played both mid-field and attack positions. Eric then went on to attend college at the University of Arizona. He played attack position for the Wildcats all four years. Eric graduated with a degree in Business and Marketing.  Since college, Eric has played lacrosse on various club teams such as Brine, Orange County, Laxworld, Haute Sticks, Blackstar and Crossfire.

Eric’s coaching career began at Esperanza High School (2008-2013). He was the offensive coordinator for the JV and Varsity teams which brought them to a winning a league championship title. He also enjoys coaching his 10 year old daughter, Sydney, who plays for the Tustin Tigers. Today, Eric continues to play lacrosse in the Elite Masters Division and is on a traveling club team named the Gray Birds (Air Force Academy/Arizona). Eric’s hobbies include deep sea fishing, fly fishing, PS3 gaming, and surfing. When Eric isn’t coaching he loves to spend time with his wife, Kathy, daughter Sydney, and Boxer dog Bora.
